October 6, 2026. On September 29, 2026, President Donald J. Trump signed an executive order directing federal departments and agencies to replace the terms “Artificial Intelligence” and “AI” with “Super Intelligence” and “SI” in official correspondence, public communications, policy and other non-statutory documents, and giving officials 60 days to draft proposed legislative language defining the new terms in federal law.
On October 1, 2026, technology lawyer and Amazon bestselling author Adam Jabbar published Super Intelligence (SI) for Lawyers 2026: The SI Guide to Claude, ChatGPT, Legal Prompts, Verification and Ethics, a 314-page working manual for lawyers, paralegals, in-house teams, law firm leaders and law students.
“Washington changed the name. It did not change a lawyer’s duties. Courts are sanctioning lawyers for fabricated citations, judges are writing AI rules, and clients expect faster, cheaper work. This book is about doing better work with these tools while keeping your clients, your licence and your reputation safe.”
Adam Jabbar, author
The book arrives as the legal profession tightens its expectations. In March 2026, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit ordered two attorneys to pay $15,000 each, plus the opposing party’s appellate fees, over fabricated citations in Whiting v. City of Athens. In April 2026, the Nebraska Supreme Court temporarily suspended an attorney after 57 of 63 citations in a brief proved defective. California’s SB 574, signed September 30, 2026 and effective January 1, 2027, will require California attorneys to verify AI output and every citation in court filings.
