1. Who we are

AI for Lawyers Academy (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a private training and education venture founded by Adam Jabbar. We operate the website at https://www.aiforlawyersacademy.com (the “Website”). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have. For any privacy question, contact contact@aiforlawyersacademy.com.

2. Information you give us

We collect the information you choose to provide when you:

  • Send an enquiry: your name, email address, country, the programme or service you are interested in and your message.
  • Subscribe to our email updates: your email address.
  • Register interest in International AI & Law Forum events: your name, email address, role, country and whether you would like to speak or host.
  • Book a call: the details you enter in our scheduling provider.
  • Enrol in a programme: the details needed to arrange and deliver it.

3. Our free tools, course and certificate

Our free tools (including the Prompt Builder, Confidentiality Redactor, Citation Checker, policy and clause generators, assessments and calculators), the free course and the certificate generator run entirely in your web browser. Text you type or paste into them is processed on your device and is not sent to us or to any AI provider. Your certificate is created on your device using the name you enter.

Some tools save your progress, preferences or quiz answers in your browser’s local storage so they are still there when you return. This information stays on your device. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

4. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records technical information in server logs when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the date and time. We use these logs to keep the Website secure and working. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If we introduce analytics in future, we will update this policy before doing so and, where required, ask for your consent.

5. How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiries and arrange calls.
  • To deliver programmes, coaching and organisational training you request.
  • To send email updates you have subscribed to, and Forum event updates you asked for.
  • To keep the Website secure and improve its content.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

6. Legal bases (UK and EEA visitors)

Where the UK or EU General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on: performance of a contract, where processing is needed to provide a programme or service you requested; consent, for email updates and event notifications; and our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, operating and securing the Website, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.

7. Service providers we use

  • Formspree, to receive enquiry, newsletter and event-interest forms.
  • Calendly, to schedule calls you book.
  • Our web hosting provider, to host the Website and keep server logs.
  • Email and messaging services we use to correspond with you, including WhatsApp if you choose to contact us there.

These providers process information on our behalf or under their own terms and privacy policies. Links to third-party websites, such as Amazon, LinkedIn and legal news publishers, are governed by those websites’ own policies.

8. International transfers

We work with people worldwide, and our service providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards offered by those providers for such transfers.

9. How long we keep information

We keep enquiry information for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, programme records for as long as needed to deliver the programme and verify certificates, and newsletter or event-interest details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We may keep information longer where the law requires it.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email or by contacting us. To exercise your rights, email contact@aiforlawyersacademy.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

11. Children

The Website is intended for legal professionals, students and adults interested in legal technology. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections to the Website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the Effective Date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to let you know.
